The Sherman Oaks Galleria Has Become the Neighborhood's Appointment Book

What does the Sherman Oaks Galleria actually sell these days? Its own directory gives a clear answer. The complex at 15301 Ventura Boulevard lists 25 tenants, and most of them sell blocks of time: a showtime, a spa session, a class seat, a workout, a dental appointment, a table.

That changes how a resident uses the place, because booked time works best when you check a calendar before you leave the house. Heading into the holidays, the calendar is fuller than it has been, and one of its biggest additions still has its hours marked TBD.

What the Directory Actually Holds

Sort the Galleria's current listings by what you do once you arrive, and very little of it is shopping.

  • Sit down and eat: The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Buffalo Wild Wings, Hana Grill, Cheese Theory, Almost Famous, Robeks Juice, Ben & Jerry's
  • Book a session: Burke Williams Day Spa, 24 Hour Fitness, Rejuve Clinic, Oxygen Well, Prella Nail + Beauty Bar, Dent-All By Dr. Z
  • Enroll in something: Paul Mitchell The School, Casa Loma College, Life Plus | Schools for the Curious
  • Buy a ticket: Regal
  • Get measured or serviced: King David Bespoke Suits, Max Car Wash
  • Coming soon: Hapa Haus Golf Simulator, San Fernando Coffee Company

The rest of the list is Adam's Garden, The Diamond Guys and 4 Your Convenience. The Diamond Guys and 4 Your Convenience are among the few entries that work like conventional stores. Nearly everything else on the list asks you to commit an hour or more.

The building around these tenants explains part of it. The Galleria's leasing page describes the complex as 1,002,858 square feet of Class A office and retail space. That means a large daytime population works upstairs and needs lunch, a gym and a nail appointment within walking distance.

The Clock Runs Longer Than It Used To

The listed hours stretch across most of the day. Here is how they ran on the Galleria's tenant pages from this past summer:

  • Casa Loma College's Sherman Oaks campus, a healthcare-career school, opens at 7:30 a.m. on weekdays and runs until 5 p.m.
  • Almost Famous serves breakfast along with burgers and sandwiches. It opens at 9 a.m. on weekdays and is closed Sundays.
  • Oxygen Well, a hyperbaric-oxygen center in Suite P-12, lists 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.
  • Life Plus is listed as open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
  • King David Bespoke Suits keeps weekday and Saturday hours and sees clients on Sundays by appointment only.

Hours change, so check a tenant's own listing before you plan around it. The pattern holds, though. The early slots go to students and breakfast. The late slots go to the restaurants, the movies and, once it opens, a bar that the city has already approved to stay open far later than anything else here.

The Cooking School Fills Its Calendar in Advance

Life Plus | Schools for the Curious shows best what "appointment book" means in practice. It is an interactive cooking school with adult and family classes and youth programs, all sold as dated sessions.

The adult classes on Life Plus's website are priced from $125. On the Thursday this post goes up, October 29, the listed class is Vietnamese cooking. It follows a run of classes from October 21 to 25 covering Italian, sushi, Thai, Chinese, pasta-making, brunch and pastry. The youth after-school series meets weekly for ages 9 to 17 and moves to a different country's food each month.

The next date to know is Sunday, November 8. Life Plus is hosting a "Table for Strangers" supper club at the Galleria with 24 seats, and founding seats are priced at $85. That costs less than a single adult class, and a 24-seat room books up in a way a mall food court never does.

Hapa Haus Is the Biggest Bet in the Building

The tenant most likely to change how the Galleria feels after dark hasn't opened yet. Hapa Haus is a golf simulator, restaurant and bar, and the scale of what the city approved sets it apart from everything else on the directory.

Los Angeles City Planning approved the project's conditional-use permit on August 4, 2026. It covers a restaurant with full alcohol service, 69 interior seats, 48 patio seats, five golf simulators, and permitted hours of 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily. The planning filings described by What Now Los Angeles put the space at 7,983 square feet, with a 1,526-square-foot covered patio.

That permitted window runs six hours past Life Plus's listed 8 p.m. close. Approved hours are an upper limit, not a promised schedule, but they show what the space is designed to handle.

Owner Alex Miyawaki told What Now Los Angeles in April that he was aiming for a November opening, with a Hawaiian-leaning menu. The Galleria's own Hapa Haus page says only "late 2026" and lists every day's hours as TBD. Treat November as the owner's target until the doors open.

The Season on One Page

These are the dated events and openings between publication and the end of the Galleria's posted holiday calendar.

Date What Where it stands
Thursday, Oct. 29 Vietnamese cooking class at Life Plus, from $125 Listed for booking
November Hapa Haus opening target Owner's target; the Galleria says "late 2026"
Sunday, Nov. 8 Life Plus "Table for Strangers" supper club, 24 seats, $85 founding seats Listed for booking
Friday, Dec. 4, 5:30 p.m. Annual Tree Lighting with free photos with Santa, entertainment and an artisan market On the Galleria events calendar
Monday, Dec. 7, 5:30 p.m. Hanukkah celebration with Chabad of Sherman Oaks, a local children's choir, donuts and crafts; menorah lighting at 6 p.m. On the Galleria events calendar

The two December nights are the Galleria's community events, and the Tree Lighting includes free photos with Santa. Both start at 5:30 p.m., which overlaps the evening dinner rush at the restaurants on the directory. The Galleria events page describes the Tree Lighting as an annual tradition and the Hanukkah celebration as a partnership with Chabad of Sherman Oaks.

What Arrives After the Holidays

The next listed addition is San Fernando Coffee Company, which the Galleria lists for early 2027. A coffee counter fits the pattern above. It serves the early-morning crowd heading to the campus, the gym and the offices upstairs, the hours that once mattered least to a shopping center.

The newer listings all point toward shorter, planned visits: a Vietnamese class on October 29, a 24-seat supper club on November 8, and a simulator bay after work once Hapa Haus opens.
